Tinka said McKeown's experience would be instrumental in guiding the company in the next phase of its development. It is advancing the wholly owned Ayawilca zinc-lead-silver project in central Peru towards development.
McKeown, Tinka's first chairman, has worked in a number of jurisdictions in 25 years in iron ore, lithium, precious metals, base metals, and oil and gas; 10 years as a partner at Sentient Group (a founding Tinka shareholder); and seven years as investment principal at Actis.
He graduated from Imperial College London with BEng (honours) in mining engineering, and holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
