In its latest sustainability technical report, Antamina said it planned to reconfigure the ore crusher platform and use a semi-mobile crusher with a 13,200 tonnes per hour capacity, which will see the operation process some 85 million tonnes per year of material.
The company also plans to optimise the internal water management system, prepare an area for internal access, implement a waste transport system, modify platforms for piping and the storage of LPG and lubricants. Other modifications are to optimise the domestic wastewater treatment system and make changes in the system of water recovered from the process and the domestic wastewater treatment system.
Antamina principally produces copper and zinc, and is a joint venture between BHP (33.75%), Glencore (33.75%), Teck (22.5%) and Mitsubishi (10%).
