Patriot Battery Metals noted that Way has more than 35 years' experience within the resources and construction industry throughout Australasia, Canada, the US and Europe.
"His early career was with major resource companies advancing major projects however the last decade has been focused on the earlier stage projects of public mid and junior mining company's," the company said.
"Mr Way has experience in a wide range of commodities including gold, copper, nickel, zinc, magnesium, graphite, cobalt and lithium," it added.
Patriot Battery Metals flagship asset in the Corvette property in the James Bay Region of Quebec, which hosts "significant" lithium potential, the company says.
It also holds 100% ownership of the Freeman Creek gold property in Idaho, US.
Patriot's share price on May 2 stood at C$2.64 (US$2.05), having risen 2% from the previous session. It has a market capitalization of C$208.76 million.
