On a grade-thickness basis, hole 55C comes in 1,779.5, a sizable lift from the previous best hole of 1,492.6 in hole 54, and almost twice the next best hits reported by other countries, and three or four times better than the other top 10 drill hits in the Americas.
"From a grade-thickness perspective, hole 55C is the best hole ever drilled at Filo del Sol," said Filo Mining president and CEO Jamie Beck.
The hole drilled through the Aurora Zone confirms the continuity of the bonanza-grade Breccia 41 mineralisation between holes 41 and 54 to the south and hole 57 to the north.
" At almost 1.5km deep, and still strongly mineralised, hole 55C is a great reminder of not only the size and scale of the system, but also how much more there is to discover at Filo," said Beck.
Filo has seven diamond drills and a reverse circulation drill turning at Filo del Sol to follow up on previous drill hits while also step-outs to test continuity of the Aurora Zone, and larger step-outs to continue to try to find the edges of the mineralised zone.
Shares in Filo Mining are trading at C$23.50, valuing the company at $2.9 billion.
