Drilling intersected high-grade manto-style zinc mineralisation at the Camp area with highlights including 19.2m grading 15.6% zinc, 1.5% lead and 154 grams per tonne silver including 7.8m grading 31.3% zinc, 1.7% lead and 225g/t silver.

"We are particularly excited about the very high-grade zinc-silver vein intersection in hole A20-177, one of the best grade intersections we have ever had at Ayawilca and especially attractive as it occurs at shallow depth," said Tinka Resources' president and CEO Dr Graham Carman.

"The thick vein is hosted in the quartz sandstone member of the Goyllar Formation which was not previously considered as a favourable host rock. The shallow nature of the mineralisation [about 100m depth] opens up the possibility for high-grade zinc-silver-lead resources much closer to surface than previously thought."

Tinka has completed 6,500m of a planned 7,500m in the resource drilling programme, which is expected to be completed in February, after which the data will be compiled for a resource and preliminary economic assessment update.

Shares in Tinka Resources are trading at C24c,valuing the company at $83 million.
