Connemara has taken its new name from the racehorse Arkle who made a name in the 1960s

Trading on AIM under the new ticker, ARK, started on March 22.

All new share certificates issued for ordinary shares will reflect the new name, although existing share certificates with the old name will remain valid.

The company has also changed its Twitter handle and website address to reflect its new name.

The name 'Arkle' was taken from the Irish race horse who won three Cheltenham gold cups in a row.

CEO Patrick Cullen said he bleived the rebranding would better represent the company's diversified position in both gold and zinc exploration and resource development, as well as its geographical spread across Ireland.

"The company's recent capital raising was very strongly supported by existing shareholders. We look forward to focussing our attention on the Mine River gold project in the near-term, while our joint venture partners advance our interests at our the two key zinc assets," he said.

Arkle plans to soon start further exploration at the 100%-owned Mine River project, which comprises eight licences covering around 340sq.km in counties Wicklow and Wexford.
