Codelco upgrades Chuquicamata smelter

Chilean state-owned copper company Codelco has inaugurated a new Peirce-Smith converter at its Chuquicamata smelter in Antofagasta that can capture 97% of gases emitted during processing as part of its efforts to comply with new emission standards taking effect in December 2018.
