Regulus extends Antakori to the north

Regulus Resources has extended high-grade copper-gold mineralisation north at its Antakori project

All holes encountered significant mineralisation with the most notable results being along the northern margin of drilling completed to date. Highlights included 236.35m grading 0.53% copper, 0.63g/t gold and 12.09g/t silver from 87.55m depth. This hole intercepted high-sulphidation epithermal and skarn with overprint of carbonate base metal intermediate sulphidation veining.

"The AntaKori project continues to consistently deliver encouraging drill results and we are particularly pleased with the new zone of breccia-hosted high-grade copper mineralisation," said CEO John Black.

The company reported six additional drill holes from a drilling campaign undertaken in collaboration with Compañía Minera Coimolache), the operator of the Tantahuatay gold mine immediately south of AntaKori. It reported portions of the drill holes that occur within Regulus concessions.

This drilling concluded its Phase 1 drilling programme with a total of 20,332m drilled on Regulus concessions. All 27 holes of the programme intercepted mineralised rock indicating that the AntaKori system may be large. The results will form the basis for the completion of an updated mineral resource estimate that is scheduled for completion by the end of February.

"I'm particularly excited by the first occurrence of significant amounts of breccia-hosted bornite with chalcopyrite within a significant high-grade copper interval suggesting that we are approaching the core of the system," said chief geological officer Dr Kevin Heather.

Drilling continued directly into a Phase 2 programme with two rigs that will drill into April when it will increase the rig count to allow for the completion of about 25,000m of additional drilling in 2019. This will continue to test the northern extension of the system which the company believes will lead to the core of the system.
