Kenmare flagged earlier this month it had begun the process of shifting the giant mining unit and accompanying dredge along a purpose-built road from the previous mining area at Namalope.

Analysts at Peel Hunt said moving the WCP B was the element of the operation it felt investors were "most fearful around".

"With this completed we feel investors can start to anticipate the free cash generation we expect from 2021E, on from the much higher grade Pilivili orebody," said Peel Hunt.

Kenmare said the plant would be operational and producing heavy mineral concentrate in mid-November.

Kenmare said WCP B was the heaviest piece of mining equipment to be moved in Africa to date. The unit weighed the same as 550 double decker buses, was taller than a seven-story building and wider than a football pitch, the company noted.
