Tesla eyes terawatt capacity by upending battery supply chain

Electric vehicle maker Tesla has upended the lithium-ion battery supply chain, announcing a raft of first-principle improvements to the way cells and its lineup of EVs are made. Co-founder and CEO Elon Musk says the intention is to halve battery pack costs while improving capacity and power metrics in the next three years, with the overarching goal of reaching three terawatt-hours of battery capacity by 2030.
