Sienna president Jason Gigliotti said the appointment was a good one because of Protek local knowledge of the terrain and geology.
"We anticipate the commencement of the drill program shortly," he said.
The company earlier this week increased its landholding at Slattberg to 12,733 acres, including at least 16 historic mines. One of them being the historic Martanberg copper mine.
Gigliotti said the district was known for its copper-rich skarn-style mineralization. Underground workings typically extended to depths of 80-100m, and little to no modern exploration conducted in the area. Recent high-resolution magnetic survey results were being used to define multiple high priority drill targets for the upcoming drill program.
"We plan to bring modern techniques and views to this added acreage," Gigliotti said.
