The intercept of 5m grading 493 grams per tonne from 167m was from Tabakoroni, 35km south of the mainstay operation, with open pit operations at the planned satellite development scheduled to begin this quarter.
Resolute indicated it's increasingly confident Tabakoroni will yield a future underground mine, with an expanded resource set to be reported by the end of the year.
Exploration is ongoing at Tabakoroni as well as well as Syama and Nafolo.
Meanwhile the gold miner also suggested the Nafolo mineralisation next to the Syama underground mine could form part of an "expanded" mining operation, with an updated mineral resource estimate expected in about 12 months.
Resolute currently has 3 million ounces of underground reserves at Syama and is set to begin sub-level caving in December.
Mining at the underground operation has been scheduled-out to 2032.
Shares in Resolute were up 3% to A$1.41 in morning trade, capitalising the company at just over $1 billion.
The stock is up about 50% over the past seven months.
