Orford has an option agreement with Carolina Gold Resources to earn up to a 70% interest in the Jones-Keystone/Loflin, and Landrum-Faulkner properties.
Drilling this summer was split 655m at Jones-Keystone and 466m at Faulkner, with the first hole on the Jones-Keystone property reporting 41.1m grading 1.36g/t gold, including 9m grading 2.63g/t gold, the company reported Thursday.
Importantly, Jones-Keystone drilling has confirmed the continuity of historical mineralisation and extended mineralisation into a previously unexplored zone, which opens up the size potential of this mineralised system, the junior said.
"We are excited with the initial results from drilling on the Jones-Keystone property showing thick shallow gold mineralisation and we look forward to receiving the full assay results," Orford president and CEO David Christie noted.
Drilling at Faulkner has discovered a new sulphide mineralised zone, but assays are also still outstanding.
