Visitors to the Epiroc Control Tower can explore remote controlled and automated machines that can be operated anywhere around the globe.

There is also Epiroc information management displayed through telematics and integrated systems in an attempt to demonstrate the digital and connected mine.

Epiroc underground rock excavation division president Andreas Nordbrandt said when the company was designing its control tower it knew it would be more than just a showroom for its automation and information management facilities.

"We built it to be a place where we, together with our customers and partners, will develop the functionalities of tomorrow's mining operation, but also where we do actual work within these areas," he said.

Nordbrandt said Epiroc also wanted to help customers integrate equipment, services and information management systems into an efficient value chain.

The control tower can help with that.
