Broomhead has been a non-executive director since March 2010. He is also on the board of Coates Hire and Asciano Finance Trust and has served as chairman of Orica (AU:ORI) since January 2016.

Brinded stepped down as the committee's chairman, as he decided not to stand for re-election as a non-executive chairman at BHP's 2017 annual general meetings. He has been on the board and sustainability committee since April 2014.

The AGM meetings will take place on October 19 in London and November 16 in Melbourne.
