Ayesha Hira will investigate strategic growth opportunities besides the Karowe mine

The appointment is the latest in a string of executive changes for the company so far this year.

A geologist turned banker, Hira has worked in capital markets with mining companies listed in North America, Australia, South Africa, the UK and Europe, having most recently been mining specialist of institutional equity sales at Jefferies.

Prior to this she worked at RBC Capital Markets and CIBC Capital Markets. She is also familiar with the diamond industry through her time as a geologist at De Beers Canada.
