Ed Bowie takes on business development role at Mali explorer

Cora said Monro would closely with the board to progress its strategy of gold exploration in Mali, where it is advancing its Sanankoro gold project. Monro is also head of business development at major Cora shareholder and Mail gold producer Hummingbird Resources.

Exploration geologist Bowie started his career with SAMAX Gold in Tanzania and has more than 23 years' experience in the industry.  At SAMAX he was involved in the drill programme that led to the Kukuluma-Matandani discovery that became part of AngloGold Ashanti's Geita gold operations.

Bowie has worked in equity research and corporate finance roles prior to serving as fund manager for Altus Capital's two mining funds. More recently he served as head of business development at London-listed Amara Mining.

Bowie has a master's degree in mineral deposit evaluation from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London, and a bachelor's degree in earth sciences from the University of Oxford.
