The zinc mine, about 60km west of Charters Towers, has an initial seven-year mine life.

Pybar has been contracted to do mine development, production drilling and blasting, and loading and hauling of ore and waste. Development activities have already commenced on site with the first decline cuts completed.

The contractor has a start-up team of 17 on site, ramping up over the next two years to a full complement of 70 people.

Pybar is also mining at Red River's West 45 project at Thalanga.
