Samdani, a former mining and metals capital projects leader for SNC-Lavalin in North America who spent 13 years in project management at WorleyParsons, takes up the role of senior vice president and general manager for mining and metallurgy in the Middle East.

SNC-Lavalin derives about a quarter of its plus-C$9 billion annual revenues from its Middle East-Africa business.

"In the Middle East, we continue to witness an upward curve as countries continue to diversify their economic resources," said the company's mining and metallurgy president, Jose Suarez.

"Mr Samdani's expertise, credibility, and global-calibre experience will play an important role in delivering highest standard of services to our existing clients and partners, as well as tapping into a wealth of opportunities out there in this emerging sector."
