The 568.9-tonne sample was the first of five bulk samples collected at the end of 2017 to determine to zone's potential resource.

The overall recovered grade was 242.69ct per hundred tonnes and the largest gemstones recovered included a 6.2ct spinel and a 3.61ct garnet.

Of the 99% of gemstones found, 57% were spinets, 18% garnets, 15% ilmenite, 5% saphhires, 3% carmel sapphires, with hobonites, moissanites and rubies making up the final 2%.

The other 1% comprised heavy industrial minerals zircon and rutile.

Last week, the company announced it had recovered 9,778.15ct from 14 bulk samples from Kishon Mid-Reach's zone one.

Shefa Yamim CEO Avi Taub said the bulk sample results further highlighted the potential of the Kishon mid-reach deposit and increased confidence in the project.
