The DPA said the new position would see Anghel lead development and implementation of the association's "external engagement strategy", working with most of the world's big diamond mining companies.
"[Anghel] will lead the DPA's global public affairs agenda in important areas such as terminologies and nomenclature and she will take responsibility for the DPA's industry programs, including the ASSURE Program," the association said in a statement.
DPA CEO Jean-Marc Lieberherr said there was "a great need and opportunity for all major industry organisations to work closely together on progressing a joint agenda".
