Aurania's president and CEO Keith Barron noted Wood's contributions over the past three years and his stewardship through the Covid-19 pandemic.
He as agreed to provide transitional support, on a contract basis, for the in-coming CFO—who will be named shortly, Aurania said.
Meanwhile, the company said that Ullrich brings more than 30 years of experience in mineral exploration and geoscience.
"He brings a wealth of technical experience to our company along with significant executive-level experience with both majors and juniors in the metals and mining industry," Barron said.
Aurania said that Ullrich's experience includes CEO and director of Ashton Bay since 2016. Prior to that, he was chief geologist for North America for Antofagasta Minerals, where he investitated the region's copper potential with drill programmes in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
He has also served as a senior geologist for Almaden Minerals. He established the Ar-Ar geochronology lab at the University of British Columbia, it said.
