For the December quarter, Maverix reported 9,000 gold-equivalent ounces, which took the full year to 32,000oz AuEq - exceeding guidance, which was increased on November 16 from 27,000-30,000oz AuEq to 31,000oz AuEq.
BMO Capital Markets analyst Rene Cartier said the December-quarter production beat BMO's expectations of 8,000oz AuEq by 13%.
"While MMX did not provide a breakdown of the mix between royalties and streams, or its associated cost of sales, in our view, the better-than-expected production is an incremental positive," he said, noting BMO has now made "minor adjustments" to its fourth quarter 2021 estimates.
BMO is estimating Maverix's 2022 production at about 33,000oz AuEq.
"We look forward to building on this performance in 2022, given the organic growth from our existing portfolio, as well as from our active pipeline of royalty and stream acquisition opportunities," Maverix CEO Dan O'Flaherty said.
Maverix also declared a quarterly cash dividend of C$0.0125 per common share, which is to be paid on March 15.
Maverix's share price on the Toronto Stock Exchange was C$5.88 on February 15, up 1%. The company had a market capitalisation of C$863.6 million.
