Indonesian officials detained over illegal nickel mining

Two members of Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources have been detained in relation to illegal nickel ore mining and selling from the Mendiodo Block, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, which is estimated to have cost the state Rp5.7 trillion (US$379 million), according to local media.
