Readily referred to as the queen of diamonds for her work in northern Canada – with Aber Resources and Stornoway Ventures (which became Stornoway Diamond Corp – Eira Thomas’s three-and-a-half year stint in gold as CEO of Kaminak Gold was equally as successful. Her team managed to prove up one of the best undeveloped projects in North America, a fact cemented by the C$520 million (US$406 million) acquisition of Kaminak and its coffee asset in the Yukon earlier this year.
