Over the past year or so, Bayan Khundii has delivered a number of attractive gold assays, but the latest has topped them all.
The hole in question came from the North Midfield Zone, a recent discovery at Bayan Khundii.
The highlight was a 1m interval grading 2,200g/t Au and 948g/t Ag from 193m depth, which showed off fine-grained visible gold. It was part of a bigger 14m intercept averaging 158.3g/t Au from the same depth.
The hole was positioned 30m north of another assay that struck 1m of mineralisation at 115g/t Au, and was located 30m northwest of another that came back with 1m at 44g/t Au.
"The discovery of this high-grade vein represents an important new target area that will require additional, closer-spaced drilling in 2018," Erdene said.
While the company is in the process of assessing all of the drill data from an extensive 2017 programme before committing to its 2018 plan, it said a resource should be forthcoming this year.
