Michael Timmins replaces Joaquín Merino-Márquez

He has over 20 years' experience in technical and corporate development with long stints at Agnico Eagle Mines (CN:AEM) and Placer Dome.

He was most recently vice president of corporate development at Agnico, but also participated in the construction and commissioning of the Kittila mine in Finland and led several key acquisitions and investments.

Prior to this, Timmins filled different roles at Placer Dome's Red Lake camp.

Emerita's previous CEO Joaquín Merino-Márquez will remain as president and also keep his role as managing director of Emerita's Spanish subsidiary, with focus on progressing its zinc projects in Brazil and Spain.
