Gem appoints new non-executive director

Mike Brown to replace outgoing Gavin Beevers

He will replace Gavin Beevers who said in October he would not seek re-election after sitting on the board for almost 11 years.

Brown has over 35 years' experience in the resources industry and currently owns his own mining advisory company.

He is a non-executive director of Nevada Copper (CN:NCU), an advisor to Pala Investments and a managing partner for Palaris in Africa.

Brown worked as managing director of technical at Pala in Switzerland for six years, having previously spent 21 years with De Beers in Southern Africa where he managed the restructuring at De Beers in 2005/2006 and again in 2009, and eventually became COO.

In the past, he was a non-executive director of Sierra Rutile (LN:SRX) and Asian Mineral Resources (CN:ASN).
