Carter has over 30 years' experience in openpit engineering, mine management and project development at the likes of Centerra Gold (CN:CG) and True Gold Mining (now part of Endeavour Mining (CN:EDV)).
In addition to managaing the 600,000 ounce per annum Kumtor mine in Kyrgyzstan, he also worked on Centerra's Boroo gold development in Mongolia and the Karma heap leach project in Burkina Faso.
Peter will lead Chaarat's Bishkek team to deliver the development plan for the Chaarat project, starting with the phase one heap leach development of Tulkubash.
This is one of many changes the company has made over the past few months. In October, founding member and CEO Dekel Golan left. Less than a month later, CFO Linda Naylor stepped aside to allow Pete Gardner to take on her role.
