South 32 head of treasury Katie Tovich has been chosen as the successor to CFO Brendan Harris, who in turn will take over the CMO role from Peter Finnimore.

Tovich has over 25 years' experience in the global resources industry in senior finance and marketing roles, including South32, BHP and WMC Resources.

She will take on the role of deputy CFO immediately to ensure a smooth transition before she becomes CFO at the beginning of May.

Harris has been CFO since 2014 and will take over as CMO at the start of July after working with Finnimore to hand over global customer relationships.

Prior to his time at South32, he was BHP head of investor relations and was also Macquarie Equities executive director metals and mining research.
